It appears to be an additional charge, which is interesting. AFAIK, every other vendor from IBM, to CA, to (Phoenix--that's us!), to you-name-it has offered zIIP enablement free as a way to make their products more attractive and to help lower costs for our platform.
Software AG's approach is probably aimed at helping them recoup some of the development costs associated with zIIP enablement--which can be quite high.
Have other software providers done this as well? Or is Software AG the first?
