But /font/Helvetica/la and /font/Helvetica/ua (or any of a thousand other 
approaches) would work equally well. The juice ain't worth the squeeze, sorry.

    font/Helvetica/A  # Bitmap for "A"
    font/Helvetica/a  # Bitmap for "a"

Made sense to me; I deemed the coder sane.
