 This is the Explorer for z/OS documentation but it applies to IDz as well.

The link only mentions the JCL editor setup. I can't find the more general 
page. I know it is generally supported (I have used it with the COBOL editor 
all the time).
Search for sequence numbers in the IDz settings and you should find it.
