I can't help you with using CAMLST (never used it myself), but an alternate method would be to dynamically LINK to IDCAMS after creating a dynamically allocated sequential file for SYSIN to IDCAMS with one record containing " DELETE 'your.file.name' NVSAM SCRATCH PURGE".
A bit clumsy but it could work.
