Why go to the trouble of writing special case code for non=SMS intead of code that works for both?

SCRATCH (CAMLST SCRATCH) - transferring the DSN and the work area filled by LOCATE If the dataset is not SMS managed it finally needs to be uncatalogued using the CATALOG macro: 3.
