Why go to the trouble of writing special case code for non=SMS intead of code
that works for both?

Subject: AW: CAMLST for SCRATCH

External Message: Use Caution

Hi Joseph,

The following sequence works for me using assembler if the only thing I know
is the DSN of the dataset to be deleted:

1. LOCATE (CAMLST NAME) - transferring the DSN and a work area for the
LOCATE result
2. SCRATCH (CAMLST SCRATCH) - transferring the DSN and the work area filled
by LOCATE

If the dataset is not SMS managed it finally needs to be uncatalogued using
the CATALOG macro:

3. CATALOG (CAMLST UNCAT) - transferring the DSN

Best regards

Betreff: CAMLST for SCRATCH

To delete a dataset from a program the above subject is the only way I know

However if I only Know the dataset name and nothing else

Is that enough for SCRATCH

Thanks
