I should have written 'Parkring'.  It was written 'Parkrink' on a
document I had in front of me, but that is not really a sufficient
excuse.

I avoided discussion of VDL, lazily perhaps; but it is not really
accessible without a great deal of work unless one knows recursive
function theory well.  VDL is based upon a seminal idea of the late
John McCarthy, and his response to the notion that it is 'too
difficult' was always, "Do the math, or shut up" or its equivalent in
one of several other languages.
