He stated: No significant performance impact to justify an outage for removal. There's a difference between significant and none. I agree with the expert: 1. The 'impact' is more than mitigated by the performance of today's DASD. 2. The cost of space is so little compared to what it was when these parameters were introduced. 3. How do you justify the outage for something this insignificant? 4. Rather than listening to the scare tactics (and ridicule) of others on this list, cost it out for your shop (not others).
