I know the Info-zip program is very old, year 2000, but I need a FREE
compression program that checks the consistency of the compressed file when it
is uncompressed. I was using TRSMAIN, but I found out the hard way that a
tersed file can be truncated and TRSMAIN doesn't issue an error message. I
would prefer not to manually check byte counts on the terse and unterse steps,
since I am tersing and untersing dozens of files at a time. Files are tersed
on one mainframe, transmitted via sftp from the mainframe to a server,
retrieved from that server via sftp, and then untersed on another mainframe.
Thanks in advance.
