Hi Folks,

A side note - I did this set command and my hi-lighting of fields (on my
ISPF DA panel) has returned. I'd been wondering what had happened. Changed
default between z/OS 1.11 and z/OS 1.13? Hmmm.

Thanks!
BobL

Wow, thanks, that's got to be it.

I did seem to feel there was a correlation with exiting from browse.

Yup Mark, if I do a point-and-shoot sort on RECS and then a RETRIEVE, I see
SORT RECS A.

Googling CSORT I find Mark with the same problem on April 10, 2012.

I tried re-creating it intentionally and I couldn't. Tried putting the cursor
at the screen position of a point-and-shoot field, but in a browse, and then
exiting. Did not do it.

Thanks. Mystery solved.

Charles

Subject: Re: SORT JOBID A of mysterious origin

I think this might be your problem. Here's what I found in IBMlink:

The problem is with SDSF. The local fix is to issue SET CSORT OFF. CSORT
stands for cursor-sensitive sorting.

APAR PM59695 - PTF - UK77441 superceeded by UK79343 (neither ptf has been
received)

With CSORT enabled, browsing/selecting a job and doing PF3 out of the job may
turn on or change the SORT setting on the primary panel, the job was selected
from. In some cases, browsing a job and PF3ing when the cursor is not on the
command line can cause unexpected sorts on the primary panel.

IMPACT TO CUSTOMER:
User Sort will be changed

CAUSE OF ERROR:
------------------
ISFDSP does not know the difference between an enter and an end from secondary
panels.
