RE: SFTP - I would encourage you to try Co:Z SFTP.
(Not unrelated to this thread:)
The same product is available both under a free license and also under a
commercial license with warranties, support SLAs, etc.

FWIW, this has been a very successful business model for us, with many
large customers world-wide.
