OK. STATUS with no operands doesn't call the TSO CANCEL/STATUS/OUTPUT exit, but a JES exit can perform job selection for STATUS using any criteria it likes. So if an installation uses a job prefix that isn't the userid, things can still be automated. But of course no one uses those old TSO FIB commands these days...
