When I wrote

| Perhaps also worth noting is that this
| text section is marked with the usual
| vertical bar as new to this edition of
| the manual.

I did not intend to suggest, absurdly, that REFRPROT was new to or
indeed significantly changed in z/OS 2.1, only that the language I
quoted was new and marked as such.

This seemed appropriate to me in the light of some evident confusion
about just what REFRPROT does.

In my teaching it is my habit to point out that, while the original
MVT facility for replacing damaged pages of refreshable code is no
longer in place, there remain this and some other significant
differences between RENT and REFR; and I am happy to see that the I
and T Reference now makes this clear[er].
