As I mentioned earlier in this thread, mine isn't in a single catalog since it 
is 
cataloged in many master catalogs, but it is still a single data set that could
have a problem.

That being said, with 30+ LPARs and different IPL schedules, even if the
IODF data set was destroyed, be it deleted on purpose or otherwise, there
are plenty of other systems that could fix the problem.   It gets built / 
maintained in our largest sysplex and it could even be re-built from the
work file.    But the IODF volume does get HSM incremental / full backups 
done against it as well.
