I do not recommend the use of code from what is now an antique, unsupported compiler under z/OS 2.1. Moreover, this compiler proper poses only one part of the problem. Changes in the LE are at least equally problematic.
The conversions required can be very largely automated; but the qualification 'very largely' is important: a knowledgeable person must review the conversion outputs carefully. Misleading perfunctory reviews are less than helpful.
