When I submitted a job, RMFSR wanted to sit there and wait for the submitted
job to get done. Eventually it times out because the job could take up to 20
minutes or more. So my process was to (and I'm going from memory since my
mainframe is gone):

1. Click on the Remote SMF Dump Data folder and select an SMF dataset (if you
haven't set up one, right click on the blank area and select NEW)
2. Click the Create Overview Record button on the toolbar
3. On the Create Overview Record window, copy the Remote dataset name
4. Press the RUN button (progress meter goes active)
5. Wait a couple of seconds to make sure the job makes it to the mainframe.
6. Press the CANCEL button
7. Select the Remote Overview Records folder on the resources tab.
8. Right click the blank area and select NEW
9. Where it says to enter Name, paste the remote dataset name that was copied
in step 1
10. Repeat process

When the job finally finishes on the mainframe, then I would:

1. Select the entry created in steps 6-7 from above.
2. Press the FTP toolbar button
3. Change the LOCAL name to something more descriptive (for later selection in
charts)
4. Press the RUN button

After the FTP finishes:

1. Select the Local Overview Records folder on the resources tab.
2. Select an overview record entry
3. Click the Create Working Set button on the toolbar

Once the conversion process is finished, you will have an entry in the Local
Working Sets folder that can be used to input in various spreadsheet charts.
That was the process I used every month for 10 years to create monthly charts
and yearly trends charts using Overview Records. Hopefully that will shed some
light on your issue.

HI

Some questions:
1) Are you sure the input dataset is cataloged at the time of the FTP get ?

2)If it is a submitted job, it can be that the dataset is not yet exits in the
time of the FTP. Is it possible to set some delay before the FTP get ?

3)You can switch on the FTP trace

4)Any console message about this FTP GET ?
