I'm OK with dumbing it down to 'boot', although a full explanation must include that bootstrap is step 1 of IPL. Terms invented long before Windows was dreamt of. I find it interesting that 'IPL', although an abbreviation, is widely used (in our world) as both noun and verb with full declension and conjugation, singular or plural; past, present, or future.
