I concur w/: " In my humble opinion there shouldn't be special PTFs for the FMID. All the PTFs available should be downloadable from ShopzSeries (of course IFREQs apply)."
The only reason I can think of to install HCHA21 in a separate zone would be to allow CDC maintenance independent of IDAA. If IDAA is already installed (w/CDC) , then you have effectively installed CDC, and performing the install again would be pointless. I do not consider this likely, but there is a possibility that the CDC version supplied w/IDAA is a "subset" of the "full version" of CDC. I do not have enough information about that possibility to make a useful comment. HTH, <snip> The product called InfoSphere Data Replication for DB2 for z/OS consists of single FMID HCHCA21 - Change Data Capture. (There are other, optional FMIDs, but I don't have them). I haven't installed it yet. The FMID is also a part of IDAA (DB2 Analytics Accelerator: HAQT410+HCHCA21). I heard an suggestion to install CDC in separate CSI in order to have two independent versions/instances of the HCHCA21 fmid. The rationale would be that IDAA people could provide their own IDAA-specfic PTFs, incompatible with CDC itself. In other words: the two instances of HCHCA21 could be different and behave differently. My main concern is the HCHCA21 as a part of any product/feature should work properly with DB2. From this point of view the product should be in same CSI as DB2 and then therefore should be single instance of the product. In my humble opinion there shouldn't be special PTFs for the FMID. All the PTFs available should be downloadable from ShopzSeries (of course IFREQs apply). </snip> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
