Since we are moribund on z/OS, we basically only have CICS, production, test. CICS is king. Production is Prince. test is the peon and gets the leavings. We have enough power for CICS to remain responsive even during the peak times. The production jobs can just duke it out among themselves. We do have a command to "sleep" a job which Production Control sometimes uses. Basically this command does an E jobname,QUIESCE .We also have wakeup: E jobname,RESUME -- There is nothing more pleasant than traveling and meeting new people!
