​I totally agree with you. However, management here has decided to "sunset"
the z. Period. No discussion. Even if it ends up costing more money after
it is "converted to the cloud", though they insist that it won't. Long
term, I think the company wants to "cloud-source" all of IT. Or at least
all of the "infrastructure" such as servers. I don't have any idea about
desktop support, help desk, et al.  Lack of need to know.

My dream job would be one where I'm a sysprog-equivalent at a company which
has 1+ z13 running z/OS, z/VM, and z/Linux and would allow me to "get my
fingers" into each of them, at least a bit. Oh, and no PHBs!
