Hello Kees,

We are using CA-DISK 12.5 and z/OS 2.1, I confirm the same issue, the datasets
are being restored before they are deleted:

DMS2987 DATA SET CATALOGED TO CA DISK PSEUDO-VOLUME ARCIVE

DMS2987 CA DISK HAS ARCHIVED xxx
DMS3752 AUTO RESTORE REQUEST BY IDCAMS

DMS3752 IS PASSED TO THE SUBSYSTEM FOR DSN = xxxxx
DMS2993 DATA SET SUCCESSFULLY RESTORED

DMS2987 DATA SET CATALOGED TO CA DISK PSEUDO-VOLUME ARCIVE

DMS2987 CA DISK HAS ARCHIVED xxxxxx2
DMS3752 AUTO RESTORE REQUEST BY IDCAMS

DMS2993 DATA SET SUCCESSFULLY RESTORED

Greg,

Thanks for your reply.
I think there is a difference caused by the z/OS versions: in z/OS 1.12 (IIRC)
masking like you ran was introduced. In z/OS 2.1 more complex masking was
introduced and that might cause the difference between your 1.13 job and my 2.1
job.

I hope someone with CA-DISK 12.5 and z/OS 2.1 is willing to do a test.

Kees.

Kees,

We use CA-Disk to archive data sets. I issued the following in batch against
migrated data sets:

DELETE VTT.FSA.VT557.* MASK

Result:

IDC0896I MIGRATED ENTRY VTT.FSA.VT557.PAGEFILE DELETED
IDC0896I MIGRATED ENTRY VTT.FSA.VT557.PARMFT DELETED
IDC0896I MIGRATED ENTRY VTT.FSA.VT557.REPORT DELETED
IDC0896I MIGRATED ENTRY VTT.FSA.VT557.TEXTT DELETED

IDC0001I FUNCTION COMPLETED, HIGHEST CONDITION CODE WAS 0

CA-Disk r12.5; z/OS 1.13.

Thanks Anthony,

If another CA-DISK customer can confirm my problem, it looks like a CA problem.

Kees.
