But many OEM vendors _do_ have artificial hardware limitations. Examples that I know of myself: CA, BMC, MacKinney, RocketSoftware. For DRP, it is usually fairly easy to get temporary keys. Many lock not just to CPU serial number, but even to the sub-model number. And I do understand why. I am not saying that they are wrong to do this, just that such a thing exists. </snip> I am aware of (at least one vendor ) that is "HARD-WIRED" to a *SPECIFIC* CPU serial number!
