... but I'm not optimistic.
I hadn't thought there'd be a case where a PTF should PRE its FMID, but this
seems to be one.
Error in APPLY or ACCEPT sometimes seems to be a dead end: can't RESTORE
because of the error; can't go forward because of the error.
