The rename 400 to i occurred (according to Wikipedia) in 2000. I know I still familiarly say "AS/400" because I can't keep the various IBM System _ letters straight (other than z, of course). So perhaps their AS/400 is really a System i. Also, in 2008 (same source) the AS/400 and RISC lines merged to become "IBM Power Systems" so even the System i name is waaaaaay antique.

Or iSeries? Or System i? or IBM i? Just hard to believe it was really that old. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
