StarTool can do the job very nicely. There is a FIND function that searches for a (qualified) character string and (optionally) builds a member list of just those that contain the search argument.
There is also a COMBINE function that strings all members into one data stream with or without delimiters. I don't remember if the CBT version has these functions. . . .
