The original implementation of HFS suffered the same limitation because IBM
code saw the 'PO' attribute before seeing the 'HFS' attribute and disallowed
(intended) multi-volume allocation, i.e. same restriction as PDS(E). That error
was fixed early on by APAR. However, I don't know that PDSE itself was ever
accorded similar space relief.

Subject: (External):Where are PDSE limitations documented?

Trying to find where in the Fine Manuals the limitation of PDSE to one volume
is documented. For some unknown reason I AssUMed that PDSE had solved the
single-volume limitation for libraries and I am being told I am wrong (which is
likely).

I just need to find the actual documentation of this limitation.

TIA for any help you can provide.

Peter
