Another one; I don't know where it might be documented:

With a classic PDS with, e.g., RECFM=FB,LRECL=80 I can override to LRECL=40
and each record is split into two.  With PDSE I get:

    IEC141I 013-EC,IGG0191A,RECFM,STEP,SYSUT1,...

I don't know whether you call this a limitation; it's at least a behavioral 
difference.
