Logical, practical, thus it will never happen. But one can hope.

Many ISVs (including Phoenix) have been pushing for this for years. We put code into (E)JES to register/deregister with IFAEDREG back in 2006 in hopes that it would appear on SCRT reports due to the presence of the SMF 89 records. It didn't, but it does look nice when you issue D PROD command.

It looked as if IBM was going to update SCRT as needed for ISV reporting a few years back, but their lawyers put the kibosh on the project. After the SCRT re-write into Java, the project was eventually resurrected and is now a reality.

Having said that, we only plan to use SCRT for enforcement of sub-capacity pricing terms and conditions (where needed) and not for checking of execution environments to ensure they are legitimate.

(E)JES will run in your pre-registered disaster recovery environment(s) for 28 days without intervention. You can self-serve download your own keys to extend that deadline by three weeks at a time as often as needed or tech support can send you keys that will extend for up to three months at a time.
