Since we're not sitting on an island, we're also ready for that too. We keep these DR data until we confirm from all our users these DR data can be overwritten via PPRC from Primary site. So far, it was never used because, for DR exercise, we schedule a silent time, usually in a weekend in the middle of a month and during off-peak times. But, now and then, the test data are duplicated before re-establishing the PPRC link for later formal reviews. We even have live 'back DRP' actions, in other words, data is copied from DR site to Primary site and then life continues with shutdown of DR site and IPL of Primary site using data as modified on DR site. Sometimes we do DR exercises with a select group of clients/applications, while the live systems are running without any disruptions.
