Hi,

currently we have a TR link going into a FEP which connects via bus and tag to
a 9034 which then connects via ESCON to a z196, but we're going z13 and so need
FICON link. The CNA8000 would appear to be able to replace both the FEP and
the 9034 if we configure it right as it has TR and FICON ports. We're stuck
with TR.

cheers,
Peter

What's your goal?
For that excercise I would ask what about TR and Eth networks connected
via some router supporting TCP/IP protocol.
For Visara I bet you could get something like local (non-SNA) console
with TR connection, but from host point of view it works like OSA-ICC
console/terminal.
