In the first instance, I would read the z14 Exception Letters on ResourceLink (every customer should have access) for any known issues rather than follow any 'gossip'. If still in doubt, ask your IBM CE and/or Brocade themselves. It is a well know fact (I am sure you know this) that when attaching a new Z system to old(er) I/O devices or Directors/Switches, these may require microcode updates and in worse cases might not be supported with the new Z system.
