Unless things have changed significantly in the 7 years since I left IBM, having access to the portal allowed users to find out that a Security or Integrity problem existed but did not give them any real details about the nature of the problem. Most IBMers couldn't even get those details, unless they were directly involved in resolving the problem. As you're a vendor, I would expect IBM to notify you directly of any changes that they expected to affect you, just as they do (or did, when I was there) when making interface changes.
