Conversion costs money. Definitely someone should be reviewing all software regardless of vendor to make certain that it is needed in the reduced environment and if so that the price reflects the reducing environment. Unless the z system is totally isolated from the Internet, staying current on maintenance is a necessity. It may well be that the whole system should be contracted to a z series service bureau because of the reduced people support available at your site.
