The system had stabilized enough so that it was. Maybe we were earlier users of DFP than your shop was. It is long enough ago that I do not remember the details or how we came to be earlier installers if we were but it may have been due to a requirement for the DFP catalogs as opposed to VSAM and CVOLs, I do remember giving a BOF attended by Rick Steffee from Naval Intelligence that caused him to get with his IBM team before installing DFP. Normally my shop was trailing edge such that when a leak from the ceiling caused our mod 65 while we were in the process of installing MVS on a 4341, we had to put MVT on the 4341. Thanks to having attended a SHARE session on doing so and help from Rick Steffee of Naval Inteligence, Brian Scott of Volume Shoe and Paul Dalman of army records we were able to a successful Sysgen and be up in two days from the outage. We had to lie and gen the system as a 158.
