We have a group of users, running critical tests, that experienced erratic
response during a period when SFS was taking a Control Data Backup and LUWs
were suspended. These users all access the same directory R/O. The directory is
DIRC. The question is, will assigning this directory to a dataspace have a
positive effect on the response times, or will a Control data Backup still
interfere (assuming that the LUW suspension was the problem)? If that is not
likely to help, is there any way to prevent LUW suspension during these
critical tests? I am already considering the possibility of creating a new
filepool for this one application, but am not looking forward to doing so with
any great amount of anticipation.

Richard Schuh
