Funny, no one actually answered your question. I'm not either. The number of LPARs that you can support is based on the CPU you have.
Now, if you only have IFL engines, then the max LPARs your box can support is the same as the number of LPARs your IFL(s) can support. If you have LPARs for 390 engine(s), then you have to subtract that number from the maximum for your box. The rest can be for IFL LPAR(s). So, it depends...
