I recently set up SMTP (finally!) and found it quite
simple and fast to do. I used a very vanilla SMTP CONFIG
with nothing in it but SMSGAUTHLIST - ENDSMSGAUTHLIST
and IPMAILERADDRESS.
I also added an exit to my DTCPARMS file for SMTP:
:NICK.SMTP :TYPE.SERVER :CLASS.SMTP
:EXIT.SMTPEXIT
The SMTPEXIT EXEC runs this little pipe:
'PIPE < TCPIP DATA * |',
'NLOCATE /NSINTER/ |',
'> TCPIP DATA A'
That way my SMTP server doesn't bother with DNS
lookups, and just passes ALL mail to the previously
mentioned IPMAILER.
(I believe I was told here that on newer versions - I am still
on 4.4 - this can be forced w/o playing with the DNS definitions.)
This might be easier than your fight with the CC :-)
