The Msgs & Codes book says to call the Support Center for assistance.  :-) 
 The error (a) has nothing to do with the syntax of the GET command, and 
(b) is misleading.  "Input string" is the data coming from the server.  I 
agree with Mr. Hughes' suggestion that you could be trying to download a 
file in ascii (text) mode where the lines exceed ~64K in length.
