I'm not sure I understand this. SERVICE handles vendor/local modifications. As long as you use LOCALMOD to tell SES that you have such modifications, SERVICE will warn you that you have local mods in text decks that were hit by service. Use VMFUPDAT SYSLMOD to look at the list of modules and, subsequently, to tell SES that you have reworked your mods to include all of the service updates in the affected modules. Once you do that, SERVICE RESTART will complete the process and you can then do a PUT2PROD. (Details on p.176 of the z/VM 5.3 Guide for Automated Installation & Service.)
