Speaking only for myself, I had forgotten that they exist.  I've been 
installing and upgrading VM since the early 80's and I've always used the
 
regular manual.  Old habits die hard.

My opinion, since you solicited it, is that people unfamiliar with VM 
should be using the full manual anyway, but I don't deny that some other 

old-timers may find it useful.

I pulled out my copy and my first thought was: it's too early in the 
morning to try to read print that small.  Didn't get any farther than 
that.  Sorry.  :-)
