We are attempting to create a baseline for our z/VM system and one of
the documents we are using states that DIAG98 should not be used and I
would like to understand a little more about DIAG98.

I see that TCPIP, TSAFVM and other IBM supplied userids have DIAG98 on
the OPTION statement and that does not concern me. (I can say that IBM
made me do it for those supplied userids.) However, I see that DIAG98 is
also turned on my userid and on some userids that are used to copy
fullpacks using DDR. Is there an advantage to have DIAG98 turned on to
do full volume DDR's?

Here is the option statement for those DDR userids:

            OPTION DEVMAINT MAINTCCW DIAG98

Thanks.
