Subject: Re: Backing off a PTF

There is a VMFREM command. I never had to use it.

VMFSETUP ZVM xxx
VMFREM PP ZVM xxx ( PTF ppp
VMFBLD PPF ZVM xxx (QUERY to see what has to be rebuild
VMFBLD PPF ZVM xx (SERVIVED to rebuild what was changed

I don't know however if PUT2PROD will help you to place the rebuilt items
in production, but I guess it will.

(note: VMFREMOV is for the pre-VMSES softwares, like NETVIEW and VTAM)

Hi List,

A first post from someone who's come back to z/VM after 23 years on the dark
side!

Once a PTF has been PUT2PROD is there a way to back off (remove from prod)
that PTF via VMSES - or do I have to restore the system from the backup I
took before applying service? I'm hoping there is some kind of process to
just remove the PTF completely and restore the system to its status..
