Input method name and version: ibus-pinyin

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. enable Pinyin input method
2. type "daohuoxian" , you see "导火线" in the input field with input mode
underline, as the 1st candidate phrase
3. user want to replace the first character "导" with "到", so use the LEFT
arrow key to navigate up the ASCII pronounciation characters, put the
cursor like this "dao|huoxian "
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the candidate window should be still there so i can commit the "火线"
characters.
the candidate window disappeared. if i use arrow key again, it will undo
my previous committed character "到" . if i press space key again, wrong
phrase "到huoxian" will be committed.
currently IME does not work smoothly with phrase editing.
Please provide any additional information below.

Confirmed it's not a Chromium OS specific issue.
