i reported this about 3 or 4 times before though i don't think it was noticed. the issue seems to get worse with every release. could anyone please help look into it?
basically, the pinyin traditional input always selects the most obscure character rather than the most common one. for example: zongzi gives 糉子 (expected:粽子) weishenme gives 爲什麼 (expected: 為什麼) chuangdian gives 牀墊 (expected: 床墊) Choices like these make it rather seriously difficult to even do a google search, since the vast majority of pages use the latter. There are lots more like this; iBus seems to select the most obscure one every time, whenever there is one. In the past year I have always had to hunt and peck for the "standard" characters (e.g. 粽) by cutting and pasting from the internet to do any kind of typing with iBus. Also, is it possible to create a table for taiwan-oriented chinese? for example kanzhe is 看著 for a lot of people. ibus gives 看着 which i believe is HK standard. Thanks!! Great tool otherwise. ------------------ Dheera Venkatraman http://dheera.net/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "ibus-devel" group. iBus project web page: http://code.google.com/p/ibus/ iBus dev group: http://groups.google.com/group/ibus-devel?hl=en
