I washed it all down with TSP90, gave it a light sanding. I Then used this stuff called Penofin Marine Oil Finish http://www.penofin. com/products_ marine.shtml It was very easy to work with. Very durable, and looks hand rubbed. Not as messy or as heavy as Cetol. Plus its a lot easier to clean up. I paid $46 a gallon for it at a local paint store - no its not outlandish.
