Hi John,
I think you were correct the first time. Garhauer was and likely still is a major supplier to Catalina and Island Packet. Catalina Direct is our local CY Dealer with a ton of historical product knowledge, which in some cases is better than the factory records. CD was traditionally easier to work with than Garhauer but they've been going to boat shows for years now and have developed a good customer rapport. They made some beautiful bal bearing check block as a special request for me at 1/3 of the cost of a similar Harken block. So these days go either way, but I too say 6:1. Actually, the traveler was from Garhauer. If I would do it again, I would go direct to Garhauer. I had to provide the measurements on my boat to CD for them to order it from Garhauer so it would fit. It is a custom made piece of equipment, at least the length of the horizontal bar. They provide the same traveler for both a C27 and for a C30 except for the length. It's really nice. I have no regrets, would definitely go for the 6:1. I can't find my invoice but it seems it was around that price range.
