Bob, you may again be barking up the wrong tree! We are already all sailors
here.

I will relay a short story. I am a photographer in the Washington DC area
and I have covered the Washington Auto Show for decades. This year's show
was the end of January and the major thrust of the show for the past few
years has been a public policy show with emphasis on green cars. Congress
always comes and the mfgs are egger to feed them the newest corp lines.
This year there was a small group discussing the advantages of hybrid
vehicles. The discussion progressed to getting people to move in that
direction for their leisure activities. I chimed in and said that I have a
Hybrid Boat. I got loads of stares and one mfg rep from (company with a
blue oval) looked at me with disbelief. "Really, I don't know of a single
hybrid boat available!" I shrugged and said well, this past summer I spent
most every weekend on The Chesapeake Bay on my boat and burned just over 3
gallons of fuel! He was a disbeliever... finally he asked what make hybrid
boat do I own. I told him it was a sailboat. The others in the discussion
all laughed when I said a small outboard and SAILS. He went away deflated.

Besides, I must confess to another agenda - to convert gas-guzzling
boaters
to sailors.
