I second Joe's sentiment.  I don't want "a" boat.  I want "my" boat.  I am a
part of it and it is a part of me.  Knowing ever wire and bolt.....OK, I don't,
but I'm getting there.....feeling pride in your projects, having people
compliment you on "your" boat.  For me, it's like a pet.  Would you rent a dog
or cat?  I know it's not REALLY the same, but I think you get my point. :-)

If you look at the purchase of a boat as a business decision you will
charter and not own. For me, I own a boat because it is part of my passion
for sailing. I get the dollars invested back in the form of pleasure that
comes as I own and sail not when I sell.

Has anybody on this list ever bought a boat, put money in it, sold the boat,
and gotten all that money back? (besides you, Chef Yaz)

Don't cut yourself low! I'm getting ready to sell mine, as well, and I'm
running into this problem. In my area people are asking too little to sell
they're C27's, so I have to lower the price on mine to be "reasonable. " The
problem is I've dumped $10k into it since I bought it, so if I drop down
below that I'm losing money. Go for what you can get, $12k sounds like a
good starting point. If you start lower than that you're not just
short-changing yourself, but others in the area trying to sell they're
boats, too.

Just my $.02.
