Joe, Ooooh, that hurts! And I really do feel your pain. Last August I got a ride out to our Sea Scout 1986 C-27 #6254 on the mooring in Wychmere Harbor. I was on a Whaler workboat with a raised foredeck...just going out to run the engine for a bit to top off the batteries. As we came alongside I reached for the shroud and put my foot on the toe rail. A small swell pushed us off a bit and without enough momentum to continue aboard I fell down into the bottom of the whaler on my left hip.
Nothing broken, but the contusion in the hip socket exacerbated the arthritis that probably began when I was a paratrooper. Surgeon said when it hurts bad enough to bring it in and he'll swap it for a new one. No "Purple Owie" like Senator Kerry. Hope your recovery is swift and sure. I have never had a day like Friday (4/2). Here on The Chesapeake Bay the weather was outstanding, our first day with temps in the 80s. A perfect day to make my first sail of the season, or so I thought. Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use .
