I replaced mine a few years ago. I used to be in the industrial hose
business and It looked like low pressure suction hose with a single spiral wire
imbedded in the rubber to prevent kinking or collapse. The official
designation for this type of hose is SAE 100R4. I think it was around 1-1/4"
to
1-1/2" ID. If you take a piece of it to an industrial or hydraulic hose
distributor ( like Grainger or Motion Industries) he will be able to match the
size. If that is what you decide to use be very careful not to get stabbed in
the hand by the spiral support wire which always sticks out of the hose a
little bit. Try to grind the wire so you don't have a sharp point sticking
out and wear heavy gloves as you try to force it into place in the two
fittings.
