After figuring out that our old rudder was waterlogged and developing some cracks along the shaft line, we decided to replace it with a Booth rudder. Now, we need to plead our case with Lake Michigan PHRF. Has anyone done this kind of change, especially on the Great Lakes and then gone to their local PHRF committee? I found some good references from the coasts in my archives, but no Great Lakes. We would be interested in any results that members are willing to share. I also found a note from Phil back in 2004 that said the Booth was class legal, is that still true? Is it documented somewhere?
